Must love dogs

This is Peaches.
She belonged to my boss when I was an Au pair.
I have decided to start a new trend of themed posts on my blog. And yes it's around my love for the canine.
I have two furry babies of my own who will make appearances from time to time, but I will always have my camera ready to take a snap of a random beaut that I see.
Let's see what I can find.
Fun.

OH MY GOOD GRACIOUS. GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY.

This is one magnificent design.
Not exactly the style i'm going for, but if I saw some lady wearing this on her special day, I would fall over and die, and then totally hope to be wearing this dress in heaven for the rest of forever.

Cos that's how we roll

Polo

So we totally went to watch a polo match this long weekend. Jessica's the genius behind this, and she did a rocking post about it. Check it here, and here, or here.

Above are some pics that I took on the day. Kyles is the beaut taking a chill. Fun day I tell you. Fun day.

I love me a perfectly timed photo

The Wonderful World of the Weekend

So you may have noticed last weekend that I was a tad too busy to update my weekly dose of The Wonderful World of the Weekend. Sorry.

However, this weekend was cooler than tools. Here we goes:

1. Jessy poo aka Bestest Maid of Honor and I went to buy material for my dress and the brides maids' dresses with my dear seamstress Riaan. Hellz to the Bellz did we get some awesome material.

2. Jessica of the van Zyl clan and I then went for sushi at the Food Market at GreenStone in Kempton (please note: do not go there hungry, they take extra long with the service), but the sushi was certainly delicious. Yum.

3. Gary and the Jessica's came home with me to surprise Craigy, and we all went to Nina and Al's for a little dop and chop. We got a lil dronk. 'Scuse us.

4. We had an awesome Sunday horse-riding lesson. We are getting so good. Plus I got to ride a different horse (sorry Smokey), little Buckwee, she was cool, but a tad lazy.

5. Jessy and I then went home and waited for the boys, and fell asleep on the couch watching the E! True Hollywood story of Princess Di (the legacy).

All in all, it was eventful and fun. And I wouldn't mind doing everything over again.

Here's to a productive and happy week.

Peace!

Jay Kay you are so cool. Stop it.

Isn't this man too cool for school?

Every time I see or hear him I feel infinitely less cool than he is.
He is individualistic, so creative and just plain-old damn frikken cool...

I don't think I have ever met anyone who doesn't enjoy a good Jamiroquai song. It defies all natural laws. ;)

I bet you didn't know this: He currently holds the record on the BBC show Top Gear for the fastest lap on the "Star in a Reasonably-Priced Car" segment at 1:45.81

Yummy in my tummy

Lately we've been quite creative in our choice of take-out. Please note the sarcasm. One can not be creative in choice of take-out, merely in the manner and style in which we cook.

But tonight WE COOK. Correction, Craig cooks! Craigy made us a chicken chop seuy. It was great.

Which reminds me, i'm setting out to research good culinary schools in my area, cos it's about time I get fairly domesticated; I mean i am getting married and all that. Keep you updated. YES!

Invitation Inspiration

Heart it. Gonna make it my own!

Turning one is fun!

One year ago (give or take a couple of days from this post) Leigh de Preez brought into the world this special little girl. Michaela is gorgeous, and she is one. Happy Birthday little girl!

Blue Wedding shoes

So the color theme from my weddings is blue, grey and white. I've decided on wearing blue shoes, and found some inspirational photos of brides with a similar idea.
How awesome!
I love!

Idyllic

In the words of Stevie Wonder:
Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious...

(Chinese umbrellas are a prop that will most certainly feature at my wedding- I so totally want a double-decker like this)

So it is to be Kat Forsyth.

I have been deliberating over photographers for some time now; and have done what I believe to be extensive research. I have finally decided that Kat Forsyth is my girl. She is wonderful. She is new, constantly learning, appreciates other photographers, is extremely real and fresh and someone I definitely want there on the day.

Have a look at her lovely blog, and below, find some of the beauties she has snapped:

Isn't she lovely?

Work is work. I get it.

So I went through a period, you know it, when the Power Ball Lotto was up to the 70/ 80/ 90 millions, where I was already fantasizing about quitting my job and moving to coast to live and read on a beach in front of a fabulous house with a yacht.
I have however moved on from this fantasy (I was literally going through mini periods of depression the next morning when I realized I was not a millionaire) and have moved on.

I have decided everything I achieve in life will be due to my hard, ethical work. I have also realized in business, that any short-cut taken is never really a short-cut, and any under-handed business will never yield money.

But the paragraph/ essay above was not my intent for this post, it was more to vent in the fact that today was hard, difficult, almost unbearable. Until. I realized; bad days come, but they also go. Tomorrow might very well be an excellent day, and the hardships occurred in the now, will be forgotten. The most important thing in it all are the lessons learnt- which I make a conscience effort to extract from every problem.

Well, at least that's my two cents.

Out.
