The Wonderful World of the Weekend

This weekend was a busy one to say the very least.

1. Friday night started off at Jimmy's Killer prawns- Oh WOW. This was my first JKP experience, and definitely not my last. Tuesday nights in Pretoria= R100 eat as many prawns as you like. Oh, I'm there, with my hands in the air, munching on a prawn.

2. Then it was off to a celebratory drink session (for our engagement) with the folks in Craig's home town- Kempton which ended with a very tipsy Mel making friends with her lovely toilet ;)

3. On Saturday we went to the International Fashion Sale at the Coca Cola Dome. My wordie, did we only but see a lot of good deals. Amongst the beauties I found, I did come across this cool red Pember hand bag. Has totally changed my life; compartments upon compartments upon compartments! YES!

4. Again, I was on a mission to find the perfect wedding venue. Craigers and I literally spent most of Saturday and Sunday scouting for the perfect spot. Found this lovely lovely and think it might just possibly be the one. Time to make the final decision, the time is coming near, oh dear.

5. For our Sunday horse-riding lesson, Jess and I had a beautiful outride with our wonderful Horsies... which was amazing. Only, my horse Smokey likes to be a little stubborn, and also makes me bounce a lot when she canters, but i'm learning - I was even called a regular cow girl... Ye Ha!

Hope you all had a glorious one too!

Thanks Nadia. Thanks Lauren.

Thank you Nadia for sharing with Lauren. And then Lauren, thank you for sharing with the rest of the interweb; the secret of the PnP clothing. I read Lauren's post about the pretty garment she found recently, and as the divinity of my timing I happened to be in a PnP today.

Although my eyes did not see the beaut Lauren spotted, I did find these little treasures; they're little nightie combos with the cutest little sayings on them. For a whopping R59.90 each. Yes, i'll take all three!

I'm actually wearing my Happyday Cupcake ensemble right now. Over and Out.

A little something i'm reading

Funny story about the book; it was a book I bought two nights before my engagement. Guess Craigy and I were on the same wave length... I'll take it as a sign. Thank you.

PS. This author lady is Phenom. Totally. Utterly. Phenom.

I want to moon like you.

Utterly fabulous isn't it?

The Wonderful World of the Weekend

This weekend was fun indeed. Indeed.

1. Went to Kempton for a hair cut for the boy, and had lunch with Craig's mom, Ken and sis. Look at beautiful Ang with the brown hair! And mom-to-be gave us a digital photo frame for our engagement. Nice I tell you. Nice!

2. Had Sushi at Best of Asia after horse-a-riding. Hellz yeah we did! Words do not explain. So i'll shut up.

3. Went venue hunting, below are pics of the one I really like, name to be disclosed once I have decided to book it... can't have millions trying to get their hands on it ;)

4. Bought myselfs two Ellen Degeneres DVDs- this madam makes me laugh!

5. Sunday afternoon doggie walk. Typed in Recreation/ Park Destinations in my GPS, and discovered 2 new parks! Whooohooo my boys were happy!

He's my walking contradiction

Craigy is my favorite favorite. I just thought it funny that I had such contradicting photos of him on my camera.

The first one is of Craigy showing off my new umbrella, and the second is of him and his new BB gun. I bought the little 'gun' at a Chinese shop for R15.00, it doesn't really shoot very far or very hard, but it's fun to aim and try to reach things.

Funny isn't it.

I can like to say these are the most beautiful boys alive

I really think they are divine little doggies

Putting the legs to good use

So; as per my little story regarding my sweet engagement, I made mentioned of the fact that Mr Craig Kelly took me to Magalies Park on the special day.

The Park is a quaint little holiday resort in the Magaliesberg Mountains, and is a really cool place to relax, chill by the pool and do odds and sodds of activities.
Fun things include; riding bicycles, peddle boating, fishing, swimming, putt putt, golf, tennis and lots and lots of chilling. Below are nice little pics of me and my boy working on some leg action. And yes, it was fun ;)

Engaged

So guess what?!

Just guess....

Italic
I'm engaged!!! Oh mother of all that is holy, it is AMA-zing! My beautiful fiance popped the proverbial question yesterday (14th February 2010) around 20:00.

I'm sure we have all had a fair share of engagement stories, but because this is mine, as well as my very own blog, I've decided to care and share...

So V-day started off as any other, the mutual exchange of chocolates, and kisses. The only difference from a normal Valentines was that Craigsters had organised a surprise for the day. I was to cancel my horse riding lesson with Jessicas and everything.
So bright and early (for a Sunday at least) we woke up, piled into the car and set off. To an unknown destination. Until, I begin to see the Magalies mountains and the dam...

Turns out Craigy planned a whole day for us at the resort where we first met on holiday- more than seven years back- Magalies Park.
The day was so much fun... we rode bicycles, went on a paddle boat, swam, ate, laughed, and had an all-round fun time.

But the day eventually came and went, and we left, coming home around 18:00. We then decided (not so much a decision as a suggestion heavily supported by him) to go to the restaurant where we had our very first date- Mugg and Bean in Menlyn.
Now this might seem cheesy; being proposed to in a Mugg and Bean (you know, it's so much more "romantic" at a quaint little place, mostly Italian or the sort) but it was really special.
We ordered a Nacho's to share (as we were still quite full from all the eating during the day).
Afterwards deciding to order a Lemon Meringue to share.

At this time Craig had to go to the 'bath room'.
Shortly after he came back, the Lemon Meringue arrived, along with a box..... WITH MY RING INSIDE!

Oh goodness, I was so shy... there seemed to be so many people around- The time between Craig getting on his knee, and us leaving the restaurant was a complete blur, I just remember wanting to cry but not being able to, shaking like a leaf, and saying 'Are you sure Craigy!?'.

So anyway, to cut what seems to be a long story short, I am officially engaged to the man that makes me happier than anything in the world, and i'm loving it!

Exciting times!

Exclusive Books you rock! Three Chopras for R154.00!

For the more spiritually attuned out there; there is honestly no-one who compares to the enlightenment of Mr Deepak Chopra.

Although there are many who are comparable in style and message, no one gets life like he does, and is as good in getting the message across.

I stumbled upon these beauts on my way to my wax, and literally had to ask the cashier at EB whether the price sticker was correct, and whether all three books were R154.00. He had a most eloquent reply: 'If it say's so, it must be'. Quite reminiscent of Deepak himself.

Oooooh yes, I have some good reading ahead. Excitement!

Some successful individuals who respect and align their lives to Deepak's message:
- The Dalai Lama
- His Holiness Vasudevanand Saraswati
- James Redfield (The Celestine Prophecy)
- Bill Clinton

Smoking and Yoga go together like cupcakes and a diet.

So i'm all into this health kick, you know, the daily yoga and organic food. It's cool, and I like it (actually, No, I love it). But I have a problem, in the form of; smoking.

I know, I know, sucky, but true. I love it, I love it- like a lot. But today is the day that I change things, and it's cos of the following little story, which goes a little something like this:

Craigy and mine's New Years Resolution was to stop smoking, completely. And I did, for about a week. Then, it was like one cigarette here, and another there, nothing serious. Socially however I was a chimney (you know the kind: lights their cigarette with another cigarette). But, one Monday about two weeks ago it got out of control once again (as it always does) and I started the habitual daily smoking routine. Until.....

Today, I went to my local Spar after work, got my lotto tickets, some cous cous, easter eggs, milk, bread, ice cream, and a box of cigarettes. Now, please bear in mind, Craigy has quit this whole time, and I have been smoking all these ciggies behind his beautiful back. Anyway, I arrive home with my shoppings shoppings, and Craig's being the lovely that he is, helps me unpack the stuffs, and low and behold finds my precious box of Marlboro Menthols. And what does he do...
He went and hid them.

Now, i'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason. And for sure this happened for a reason, because; I never do the shopping- number one, and number two, I am normally smart enough to not let the box lie in the bag for Craigs to find ;)
None-the-less, they were found, and I received an infamous lecture from Grandpa Craig. I cried (OK, well maybe not actual tears), I screamed (mostly in my head), I secretly searched his cupboard (this I did do). But alas, nothing.

So I took a bath.

And while sitting in the bubbles, I realized that this definitely happened for a reason: I am not meant to smoke. It's so bad for me, so stinky, so contrary to the life-style I am trying to lead. And therefore, I decided to stop, for good.

I am now in hour 1 of being an official non-smoker, and I hope this lasts.

Yes. Fuck.

It's something I will take a day at a time. And, as they say, only time will tell...

Weren't they great?

Ooh I need your love babe. Guess you know it's true. Hope you need my love babe. Just like I need you. Hold me, love me, hold me, love me. I ain't got nothing but love babe. Eight days a week.

So, I am totally before The Beatles era, but still have the ability to enjoy timeless classics.

Because I always tend to support the underdog, I favored Ringo, just cos I think he needed love, but I also liked John cos he looked so sad in those eyes.

Never-the-less, and anyhow, I thought I'd dedicate a little space for them in my blog.

FYI- How did The Beatles decide on their name? (Thanks to WikiAnswers):

John said a man on a flaming pie came to him in a vision and said,"From this day forward you are Beatles with an "A". Yeah Right!! It is thought it was a play on words of the Crickets, Buddy Holly's back up band.
The main inspiration was Buddy Holly's band, The Crickets. ("The Beetles" were the rival gang in Marlon Brando's movie
The Wild One; this may also have been an influence.) Original group bassist Stuart Sutcliffe suggested the name; John Lennon was responsible for the B-E-A-T spelling, from beat music and the Beat Generation
