Work bridal shower

So the peeps at work threw me the sweetest little bridal shower 'surprise'.
Note the surprise in inverted commas. Poor Sammu the receptionist forwarded me a mail (not intended for me) spilling the beans the day before the shower. She was nearly in tears so sorry was she.
Anywhoo, tis was a lovely afternoon, got really spoiled, and will now be smelling nice until my 50th wedding anniversary ;)

Folding origami. Eating ice-cream.

This weekend, by BFF/ maid of honor (pretty much the best thing that could have happened to me) and I, spent the weekend planning the day that is to be my wedding.
The majority of it was spent folding origami birdies, which are going to hang as curtains attached to the pillars outside the venue that will host my reception.
Okay, boring; time for photos:

Orchids orchids

So I'm getting married in December, and at present, everything I do and think is relating to this momentous day.
The one thing i'm really excited about it decking the wedding out with Orchids.
I think they are such amazing flowers, with such a special meaning.
Yay for Orchids!

Engagement Surprise

So this weekend. Sho. I'll say just that; this weekend.
Too good for words.

My wonderful family and friends threw Craigy and I an awesome amazing surprise engagement party.
WE HAD NO IDEA!

If you've ever had a surprise party you'll know the feeling, almost undeserving.
So shocking it is.

But we had fun, and lots of it.
Thanks guys, what a magical evening!

Ribbons, invitations, bubbles and Ouma's

This Easter weekend was jam packed. The majority of activities included those relating to my up-coming wedding. More specifically pertaining to the invitations to said wedding.
I have decided to go for these sweet oragami heart invitations as is seen here.
So Jess and I put on our comfy shoes (or in Jess' case, not so comfy) and got shopping.
I bought the paper, the ribbon and the string, we totally nailed the technique, and all I have left are some envelopes and last things and they will finally be in the mail.

Apart from the excitement relating to the invitations, I spotted this bubble gun/ machine that makes hundreds and hundreds of bubbles. I bought six, and the plan is to have people make the bubbles as Craig and I exit the ceremony on the day. Awesome!

Lastly, my Ouma turned 76 this weekend, and we had a lovely celebratory dinner full of prawns, sushi and a whole lot of yumminess. Love you Ouma!

Weekend well done! Only 4 days till the next one!

OH MY GOOD GRACIOUS. GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY.

This is one magnificent design.
Not exactly the style i'm going for, but if I saw some lady wearing this on her special day, I would fall over and die, and then totally hope to be wearing this dress in heaven for the rest of forever.

Blue Wedding shoes

So the color theme from my weddings is blue, grey and white. I've decided on wearing blue shoes, and found some inspirational photos of brides with a similar idea.
How awesome!
I love!

Idyllic

In the words of Stevie Wonder:
Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious...

(Chinese umbrellas are a prop that will most certainly feature at my wedding- I so totally want a double-decker like this)

So it is to be Kat Forsyth.

I have been deliberating over photographers for some time now; and have done what I believe to be extensive research. I have finally decided that Kat Forsyth is my girl. She is wonderful. She is new, constantly learning, appreciates other photographers, is extremely real and fresh and someone I definitely want there on the day.

Have a look at her lovely blog, and below, find some of the beauties she has snapped:

Isn't she lovely?

The Wonderful World of the Weekend

This weekend was a busy one to say the very least.

1. Friday night started off at Jimmy's Killer prawns- Oh WOW. This was my first JKP experience, and definitely not my last. Tuesday nights in Pretoria= R100 eat as many prawns as you like. Oh, I'm there, with my hands in the air, munching on a prawn.

2. Then it was off to a celebratory drink session (for our engagement) with the folks in Craig's home town- Kempton which ended with a very tipsy Mel making friends with her lovely toilet ;)

3. On Saturday we went to the International Fashion Sale at the Coca Cola Dome. My wordie, did we only but see a lot of good deals. Amongst the beauties I found, I did come across this cool red Pember hand bag. Has totally changed my life; compartments upon compartments upon compartments! YES!

4. Again, I was on a mission to find the perfect wedding venue. Craigers and I literally spent most of Saturday and Sunday scouting for the perfect spot. Found this lovely lovely and think it might just possibly be the one. Time to make the final decision, the time is coming near, oh dear.

5. For our Sunday horse-riding lesson, Jess and I had a beautiful outride with our wonderful Horsies... which was amazing. Only, my horse Smokey likes to be a little stubborn, and also makes me bounce a lot when she canters, but i'm learning - I was even called a regular cow girl... Ye Ha!

Hope you all had a glorious one too!

The Wonderful World of the Weekend

This weekend was fun indeed. Indeed.

1. Went to Kempton for a hair cut for the boy, and had lunch with Craig's mom, Ken and sis. Look at beautiful Ang with the brown hair! And mom-to-be gave us a digital photo frame for our engagement. Nice I tell you. Nice!

2. Had Sushi at Best of Asia after horse-a-riding. Hellz yeah we did! Words do not explain. So i'll shut up.

3. Went venue hunting, below are pics of the one I really like, name to be disclosed once I have decided to book it... can't have millions trying to get their hands on it ;)

4. Bought myselfs two Ellen Degeneres DVDs- this madam makes me laugh!

5. Sunday afternoon doggie walk. Typed in Recreation/ Park Destinations in my GPS, and discovered 2 new parks! Whooohooo my boys were happy!
